As of Friday and until July 31, foreigners are able to pre-register for the 34th Beijing Marathon. Pre-registration does not require any payment and a final payment date and competition regulations will be announced on a later date on the official website.
The full-marathon will be open to 26,000 entrants overall, whereas the and half-marathon is open to 4,000 entrants. The mini-marathon has been cancelled.
The race, which starts at Tian'anmen Square and winds north to the National Olympic Park, is set to be held on Sunday October 19.
No news on whether the toilet situation will have improved from last year but don't expect to be able to urinate on your favorite tourist spots anymore, without retribution at least.
