2008 Apr 16 Pizza Buffet – What do you do in Beijing that you would not do at home?

The Pizza Buffet girls went partying last weekend and they took their microphone with them. Adriane Quinlan (the World-Weary Sleuth) offers the following by way of introduction to this week's episode of Pizza Buffet:
Last weekend, armed with a mini-DV, a clunky mic, and a drink ticket to the open bar, I went with my fellow Pizza Buffet podcasters to an expat party at Luce, a splashy haunt on Jiugulou Dajie. The plan of attack? We would ask all revelers the same question: "What do you do in Beijing that you would not do at home?" The answers, as can be imagined, ran the gamut from incriminatingly colonialist to breathlessly in love with China. But they also said something more about what it means to live in a place and about what it means to compare a new home to your old home. Plus, to assuage our devoted listeners, a charming follow-up to our weekly segment on Wuhan.
