2009 Jul 03 Talking Pints: Independence Day Weekend and Stuff for Non-Americans

It's fourth of July weekend and that means there's more action around town than you can shake a foam finger at. If there's one nation on earth that knows how to party it's the good ol' US of A. Check out their willingness for applying face paint as evidence. Woo-hoo. Here are all of the Nightlife events this weekend, and below is a round-up of some of the picks.

Let's not jump the gun, there's all of Friday to get through before the cookouts and fireworks begin. Club LA is paying tribute to the recently deceased King of Pop, then there's Bodycode at White Rabbit - read the interview here - but make sure you go early to see his live set. Also tonight is the tattoo-friendly Ink at Bling, the Free Keg Party at The Stumble Inn and regular nights Beijing Calling at Obiwan and Crispy Cream at Q Bar.

Independence Day can be celebrated a number of ways but the biggest party of the summer is the Great Wall Beach Party. For those staying in town there's plenty to do. The Beach above Ruby Khi at Block 8 is opening, Craze and Klever are tearing up four turntables at Punk and Gareth Emery is at GT Banana. Aside from those big events there's much more besides. Obiwan is having a rooftop summerjam, Luce is having a DJ night and the folk at Lush are going as wild as students pretending to be American can get.

After all the exciting capers that you've got up to on Friday and Saturday you'll need to relax on Sunday. Well, you get the choice of Cinco de Drinko at The Saddle or Reggae Sunday at Obiwan. Or staying at home. The first two are better options.
