2009 Jul 16 Aussie DJ duo TV Rock and Zoe Baldwi at GT Banana

Melbourne-based dance duo TV Rock (Grant Smillie and Ivan Gough) rose to the top of the Australian charts with their 2006 hit “Flaunt It,” featuring Seanny B. In addition to playing the Australian MTV Music awards, the duo has remixed tracks for Depeche Mode, Laidback Luke, The DONS & Tom Stephan and have had eight number one singles on the Australian dance charts.

They perform with singer Zoe Baldwi (Black Dogs Band, Sirens, Big Brother Australia) at GT Banana on Friday, July 17.

The Beijinger is giving away a couple of tickets to this show. Be the first to finish these lyrics: "Everything is fun when your brain ain't ________ __!"

Gothenburg may be known as the cradle of melodic death metal, but it also nurtured the much gentler indie sound of post-rockers Immanu El, whose atmospheric pluckings have been compared to Sigur Rós and Mogwai. In less than four years, the quintet has played almost 200 shows in over 25 countries. Before finally landing in China, frontman Claes Strängberg had some thoughts to share with us.
