Food Fight – Italian!!

Our Food Fight on the subcontinent has drawn to a close, with a lot of reviews, but no major shifts in users’ favorite Indian and Pakistani restaurants.

Here’s how the top four places looked last week (based on places with three or more reader reviews):

1. Punjabi Indian Restaurant
2. Mughal's Beijing
3. Ganges Indian Restaurant
4. Mirch Masala

After a week of Food Fighting, here’s how the top rankings sit:

1. Punjabi Indian Restaurant
2. Mughal's Beijing
3. Tamarind (Soho Shangdu)
4. Mirch Masala

… and Ganges Indian Restaurant now scrapes in at fifth place. So apart from Tamarind pushing it’s way to number three, Beijing’s top-ranked Indian and Pakistani places remain much the same.

Our winning review this week comes from tbjlil, writing about Tamarind (Soho Shangdu):

“I just wanted to second the review about the excellent value of Tamarind’s set lunch. They recently expanded the choices to include lamb rogan josh and butter chicken (delish) – and have even started projecting Bollywood dance videos onto the wall…”

Bollywood dance videos? What more could you want? You can read the full review here.

Congratulations to tbjlil, who wins a pair of Beijing Ordering Guides (Spicy Chinese and Healthy Chinese) – the complete language guides to getting the most out of Beijing’s Chinese restaurants.

This week’s fight is over everyone’s favorite European fare: ITALIAN!!

Curiously, although we have many, many reviews on the site for Italian restaurants, they’re dispersed over a great many restaurants. The top five based on places with three or more ratings are:

1. Metro
2. L'Isola
3. Annie's
4. Piazza Italia
5. Gisa

Annie’s at number three? This is bound to be controversial…

Remember, all you need to do is register as a user, find the restaurant you want to review in our directory and post your review. This week you’re fighting for a copy of Eileen Wen Mooney’s Beijing Eats, the acclaimed guide to Beijing’s dining scene.

Now FIGHT!!
