2010 Feb 03 Food Fight Winners!

After a hard week’s reviewing the results are in on this week’s Food Fight. And our winner is…
…paulm, with his review of Twilight. Ok, strictly speaking it’s not a restaurant – more a bar that also serves food. But paulm did a nice job of summing the place up with a concise, readable review:
Great cocktails & chips!
“Had some fantastic cocktails here the other night. A well made classic Delicious Sour (don't see that on many menus) and a great twist on the Manhattan. Well executed drinks, nice surroundings (once you've found it in the maze of Jianwai SOHO) and good service.
Slightly eclectic food menu, with pizza, Japanese-style chicken bits and apple-crisps, but the chips (fries to those of a North American persuasion) were fantastic.
Prices 50-65RMB for cocktails, so not cheap, but the spirits were all good with some truly unusual (for Beijing) things behind the bar.”
Paulm wins a pair of ski passes to Nanshan Ski Village.
And a special prize also goes to MAM, for the shortest most cutting review of the week – of the now-departed Rickshaw:
Worst burgers
“Used to be a good place for eating burgers. Now they are horrible!”
That’s how we like ‘em – short and not so sweet. MAM wins a pair of ski passes for his/her efforts.
Stay tuned later today for the announcement of the new Food Fight prizes.

Food Fight! Three Prizes Still Up for Grabs

Beijing’s been pretty quiet over Spring Festival, which perhaps explains why so few met out last Food Fight challenge. Before the break we said the first five users to post reviews of Sanlitun venues THAT HAVE NOT BEEN REVIEWED BEFORE would each win themselves a copy of Eileen Wen Mooney’s Beijing Eats, the essential guide to dining in the capital. Two users have scored themselves books – which means there are still three prizes up for grabs.
