2010 Feb 06 Dip into Bonbon Bins

Sweets, candy, lollies. Call them what you will but you’ll struggle to find all you want in Beijing, where pricey imports or shoddy local produce are the only choices. No longer. Bonbon Bins have sweets that are stupid fresh.
The first bite is enough to make you nostalgic. Gummy oranges taste of citrus, gummy blue sharks taste of ... blue shark, and the sour cola bottles are equally sour and cola-y (RMB 25 for 150g, RMB 60 for 500g). There’s also a line of chocolate, lollipops and gifts.
Prices start at RMB 4 so there’s no need to blow all of your pocket money but you just might.
Bonbon Bins
Available online and at select stores in Qianmen and Shunyi (details at www.bonbonbins.com)

Re: Dip into Bonbon Bins
Pretty indifferent about the candy, but I'm real glad that someone actually used the phrase "stupid fresh" in their lead. Well done, my friend.
