You can’t blame the owners of this Wudaokou club for taking its cues from Propaganda. In size, layout and feel, Solutions is virtually identical to its neighbor. For now, Solutions is the less packed of the two, although the first-floor lounge and downstairs dance floor liven up on Thursdays when students flock to Ladies’ Night (three free drinks for girls).

This campus-style café-bar suffers from a surprisingly unimaginative approach to design. The long bar area is pleasing enough, but seating is arranged in unnecessarily rigid lines, and Mao posters are haphazardly thrown about to cover bare red walls.

 Beijing's a noisy old place but over the din of the comings-and-goings of millions of people you can hear the sound of music. This is music being made right here and now in Beijing. With neighbors Temple and Jam already dealing in live music and cocktails respectively, Eje brings a good selection of beer to the table. The choice isn’t as large as at El Nido, but with a focus on Belgian and German brews (Paulaner, Erdinger, Maredsous, Westmalle), there’s enough quality to keep purists amused until they pass out.

We just received confirmation from the hotel that the nightlife titan is set to close its doors for the last time on May 19th with a closing party. They also mentioned that it's set to be replaced somewhere along the line by "something yummy", and that Punk will still be available for private parties until then.
