2010 Oct 19 Yan Can Cook Beijing Offers New Twists on Asian Fusion

As a celebrity chef who has traveled the world for his more than two decade long TV show “Yan Can Cook,” Martin Yan knows there’s nothing more fun than food. He’s brought that very notion to Beijing’s latest restaurant, which features an open and interactive kitchen, internationally inspired Asian dishes and decorations styled after the Dunhuang murals and Chinese mountainscapes.

The menu stretches the cuisines of China, featuring pig-shaped dim sum too cute to eat, new interpretations such as succulent duck skin perched on a marshmallow, and classics, like noodles with sesame paste and Peking duck. Yan has aspired to create a truly indulgent and playful experience for people visiting China - a place where they can taste the flavors and take part in the process of making Chinese food.
