They are also making seasonal merchandise, the entire proceeds of which will go to the Roundabout Charity Distribution Store in Shunyi. The money will be used to purchase quilts for elderly people desperately in need of warm bedding and clothing. Cost is RMB 150 for three courses, which includes a lot of food. Both Baihe and Pure Lotus have nice vegetarian ducks. It's supposed to be duck not turkey but it's been so long for me that I wouldn't know the difference and I find them just as tasty. Baihe's comes in the shape of an actual bird instead of the Tofurkey ball and either of these options are a lot more "environmentally friendly" than having a Tofurkey imported for just one meal. That's our plan for Thanksgiving, hope it helps!

As we all have noticed, the weather has been getting colder and colder every day in Beijing. We also see a lot of homeless people wandering around on the street. They don’t have a place to go home to, and they don’t know where to find their next meal. Therefore, I am asking you to join me in helping deliver a meal, a scarf, and a pair of gloves to 100 homeless people in total next Thursday, November 25, 2010, starting at 6 PM.The plan is to raise 10000 RMB to buy the meals, gloves, and scarves. So far I have raised almost 6000 RMB, and would greatly appreciate if you can donate anything you can to help us reach our 10000 RMB goal. I am also recruiting volunteers to deliver food next Thursday. I will need 20 volunteers, whom I will divide into 10 groups, who will be in charge of distributing food in one particular area. Each group will carry 10 set meals (2 dishes with meat, 2 vegetable dishes) to 10 different homeless people in that area. We will also ask each person if we can take picture of them to send to our donors as a follow-up document of our work. If time and money allows it, we will send out more food to shelters for people in need.
I will keep all the invoices and receipts, in order to prove that I have spent all the money donated on people who really need it. I guarantee that I will not take the money for any personal or unnecessary use.
