2011 Aug 05 DJ Usami: Electronic Arts

A regular at Yen parties down through the years, DJ Usami’s been blowing up Migas’ terrace this summer alongside Patrick Yu with the pair’s “Moonlighting” series.

Name one person you consider a true “artist.”

Hard to choose just one, but the boy outside my place on Dawang Lu makes a wicked jianbing.

Something that is definitely not art?

In terms of music? Just head down to Gongti West Gate and go to any of the clubs. ’Nuff said.

Favorite quotation or piece of wisdom about art?

“That cost how f#%$ing much?”

What would a DJ Usami still life look like?

Short. Probably a lot like that Harry Potter fella … so I’m told anyway. [Hmm … still life? –Ed.]

Five things that should be considered art?

A blue sky in the ’Jing, a fresh, piping hot jianbing at 3am, a meal at Mosto, Moonlighting at Migas, and Obentos (coming soon!).

See art in the making with DJ Usami at Moonlighting tonight at Migas.
