We Want Your Photos: Take Part In the Beijinger's 10-Year Anniversary

You may know that for our upcoming 10th Anniversary issue in October, we're planning to tell the story of Beijing in a series of then-and-now photographs and we want you to help. No doubt you've seen the current craze sweeping the Internet where photos from the past are recreated or superimposed over a present-day setting – we've now got examples of both types of photo and all we need now is your photos to recreate.

Thanks to Suvi Rautio for juxtaposing her childhood photo outside of Taiyuan Diplomatic residence from the early '90s over the present day (see above) and thanks to our very own Editorial Director, for the below example of a then-and-now photo juxtaposition:

If any of your photos fit the bill, email them to thebeijingerphotos@gmail.com and include a brief history of the photo (where it was, when it was taken) and some info about yourself. We'll get in touch with you about recreating it.

We're really looking forward to seeing what you send us. Happy reminiscing.

New comments are displayed first.

Just to clear up any confusion.

We want your original photos - either digital or scanned or print photos - and then we will get on to the recreation or juxtaposition.

If you have photos from any time in the past then send them to us and we'll see what we can do with them for this feature.

If you want to do your own recreation or juxtaposition then feel free to send that along to us too.

Thanks,
Jonathan
