Talking Pints: A Bumper Edition Featuring Rooftop Openings and Festival Afterparties

A super-sized Talking Pints this week, given that the 'weekend' spills into next week.
Kick off your holiday weekend tomorrow if you want, but do remember that Saturday is a working day for most of us.
Over at Haze they may have forgotten, as they've asked resident DJs Pancake Lee, Kaize and Max Feelgood to kick start your Labor Day weekend early. Alternatively, Lantern is hosting ELVIS T's album release. Suppose you can always call in sick on Saturday. That's not an option for some of us.
Migas is declaring the summer season to be officially upon us by opening up its much-anticipated expanded terrace to the public this weekend. To mark the occasion, they'll be holding a Terrace Opening party over both Friday and Saturday nights. It's massive, we've been told. Go check it out and let us know, because we do have to work on Saturday. Thanks in advance.
Talking Pints: Free Pisco Cocktails, Craft Beer On Tour and Red House Sanlitun

Two doses of Talking Pints for you this week, with this first installment focusing on drinks. The headlines: Great Leap and Slow Boat are on tour with their respective beers, Terra are slashing rum prices by 20 percent, and we've got news of where and why the Peruvian Embassy is giving away free Pisco cocktails next week.
Bar of the Month: d lounge

Visiting Otaku and Spice Factory in recent months reminded us what a fine-looking bar their sister venue d lounge is. We couldn’t resist stopping in and reacquainting ourselves with the Sanlitun cocktail bar’s charms.
Everything's Aoki: Steve Aoki at Yugong Yishan Saturday

In a little over 30 years, Steve Aoki has been a DJ, founded his own record label, Dim Mak, launched a line of clothing and even a magazine named Aoki. He’s also known for his raucous live shows, which Beijing will be getting a taste of this month. Here’s what he had to say to us.
Win Tickets! Neon Trees at Tango on Aug 9

Ever since The Killers picked Neon Trees as their support band a few years back, the Utah group have been talked up as the natural successors to Brandon Flowers' group and their brand of emotion-laden rock. Beijingers get a chance to judge for themselves when Neon Trees come to town on August 9 for a gig at Tango. Assuming there are no last-minute problems with the gig, Neon Trees will at least get one over The Killers in the China stakes - many readers will remember The Killers Beijing gig being canceled very late in the day in January 2010. Neon Trees have at least taken the trouble of making this "Hello Beijing!" video, so I suppose they must be keen.

Re: Bar Of The Month: Lush
I think the burgers at Lush are SO expensive! It's usually 40 kuai (and it doesn't even come with fries on the side?!??!!) If you walk down the street, there's a new burrito place where you can get chipotle-style burritos for just 20 something kuai! Right now, they're even giving out free beer!!! I would start the night at Avocado Tree instead
Monkey King
Re: Bar Of The Month: Lush
Despite the fact that you're shilling for the place, 20 kuai burritos and free beer sounds pretty appealing...
