The Great Thanksgiving 2011 Guide: Dining In

In researching this post, I asked several Americans to describe their perfect Thanksgiving. Most answers involved some form of passing out cold in a food coma by 5pm. To that end: we give you some Thanksgiving turkeys to take home. The majority of the turkeys listed below are cooked, but there are definitely frozen options. If that's not your speed, we posted a list of options for dining out for Thanksgiving yesterday. Please confirm with restaurants before ordering your turkeys, and remember to reserve in advance. Let us know in the comments space below if we've missed something!
Diageo Reserve Cocktail Contest Results: Who Are Beijing's Best Bartenders?

After two days of competition at d lounge on April 18-19, five Beijing bartenders have been selected to go on and represent the capital in the China National Finals of the Diageo Reserve World Class Competition. If you disagree with the results, we just happen to be giving you the chance to vote for your own favorite bartender in our 2012 Reader Bar & Club Awards, but before you get voting, take in our report from the Diageo contest.
Call for Young Entrepreneurs: CBYA Forum Tonight!

Tonight, the China Britain Youth Association (CBYA) is hosting the Young Entrepreneur’s Forum, a panel discussion led by the founders of six up-and-coming companies in China, including Grace and Cherry of Aeris Magazine, Ethan Feng of Alpha Partners Education, Lexie Morris of The Lollipop Bakery (often credited with jump-starting this craze), Sam of Les+, Chris Winters of FarView Academic Consulting and Paul Afshar of Ijustwannabuy.com.
Capital Bites: CRU Lunching, Excellent Italian and More Shark Conservation

It's just about time for lunch now, isn't it? If you're close to Dawanglu today, consider a visit to CRU Steakhouse. Their new business lunch is three courses for RMB 168+15%, admittedly on the higher end of things. If you're the kind of person willing to splash out a little bit on lunch, I recommend it unreservedly. Business lunches are kind of the Enomatic machine of the spendy restaurant world: low risk, comparatively low prices. There are some establishments at which I would have never dined, had I not lunched there first. If you're not the type to pay that much, I have another lunchtime recommendation for you. Keep reading for that, and other dining news.

Informative article! I think my favorite pie would have to be strawberry/rhubarb pie that my mom bakes at home in Iowa. It's sweet and sour all over - just the perfect concoction to top off a great meal!

Oh, if we can (unfairly) use the mathematical pi, then that's my pick. Sorry Grandma: pumpkin pie is definitely worth 10/10, but can't be computed to the 5 trillionth number.

My favorite pie is made of rhubarb with mixed berries. It is sweet, sour and gooey, which totally makes myself indulge in its sweetness.

My favorite is the taro pie at McDonald's. It's inexpensive (two for 7 kuai) and absolutely yummy. Cubes of purple taro in purple sauce. Yum!

A cheap store-bought Stop and Shop mini blueberry pie I won on Pi Day in 7th grade algebra class. I found out that day that we were having a pi-memorization contest, and being a competitive Asian nerd, I spent free moments of the rest of the day frantically memorizing pi. Doughy crust and cornstarch filling never tasted so sweet.
