2011 Dec 27 Andy Cao: Centro Cocktail Whizz

We asked Centro bar supervisor Andy Cao about his favorite drinks and recommendations.
Where did you mix your first drink?
A bar called Blue Fox, just across the road from Centro.
What’s your favorite alcohol to make drinks with?
Vodka. It’s colorless, odorless, and the wit is stealth-like.
And favorite cocktail to make with that drink?
All kinds of fruity martinis, especially green apple martini.
What’s your favorite drink to drink?
Depends on the mood. I prefer fresh and simple drinks. Caipirinhas, negronis and gin and tonic.
Centro’s famous for its martinis: what else should it be famous for?
We have over 200 different types of spirits and almost 400 types of wine and champagne – over 50 are sold by the glass. And there’s our friendly and warm service, delivered by our beautiful waitresses.
If Centro was a drink, it would be …
A mojito – classic, popular, and fresh.
And if Beijing was a cocktail, what would it contain?
Fine aged spirits to represent its 3,000-year history, and fresh leaves. Beijing is growing up day by day and becoming one of the world’s most important cities – just like fresh leaves in spring. Vibrant!
