Don’t Cook Tonight, Gung Ho’s Got New Bites

It’s that time of year again. No, you dunce, not for stuffed stockings, but for new items from our favorite Beijing pizza delivery. Three days ago, Gung Ho! Pizza snuck new winter dishes and combo meals onto their menu. They went right under our noses and we barely got a whiff.

Combo meals are now available in single, double, deluxe and deluxe double formats. Gung Ho even thought of the children with a special kids' combo.

The new menu looks fresh and healthy as ever, including the following additions:

  • Apricot Chicken Pizza
  • Green Lipped Mussel Pizzas
  • Veggie Lasagna
  • Garden Salad
  • Drum Sticks
  • BBQ Platter
  • Roasted Sweet Potato Chips
  • Pumpkin & Sweet Potato soup
  • Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • Dessert Pizza
  • Walnut Egg Tarts

While we’re wary of green lips on our pizza, we think walnuts in egg tarts and Nutella on Gung Ho’s light crust are awesome dessert concepts. But let’s not spoil our appetites. A BBQ platter sounds tempting to start, but it’s a strange offer from a pizza place – are we talking huge racks of ribs and half chickens here?

A quick peek at the menu's description reveals that the platter consists of only two ribs, two drum sticks and a serving of sweet potato chips. More like "wuss platter," guys. Although it is listed under "appetizers," the name is misleading.

A safer option to start might be the apricot chicken pizza which includes caramelized apricot, herb chicken, pumpkin and sweet potato. Wash that down with a bowl of cream of mushroom soup and dig into those exciting desserts.

It’s below zero in Beijing, we need food to keep warm and this menu looks promising.
