Best Books for Kids: BLF's Alison Lester

The 2013 Bookworm Literary Festival will feature several writers, illustrators, and scholars from the world of children's and young adult literature. We're all adults here but let's face it, who can say no to big letters and bright colors and pictures? To entertain our infantile taste in literature, our friends at The Bookworm asked their experts for some top picks.

Australian Children's Laureate Alison Lester will be hosting a writing and illustrating workshop for kids on Tuesday, March 19, 10am, as part of BLF 2013. She encourages children to be proud of their differences with imaginary worlds and everyday life settings.

For young readers:
Peepo
by Janet and Allen Ahlberg
Where the Wild Things Are
by Maurice Sendak
Doctor de Soto
by William Steig
No Kiss for Mother
by Tomi Ungerer

Tickets for Alison's BLF workshop are currently on sale at the Bookworm.
