Chi Fan for Charity Set for Nov 2 in Beijing: Event Expands This Year to Hong Kong

Eating for a good cause — two great things that go great together. For fans of both, mark your calendars: Chi Fan for Charity (CFFC) has announced its dates for 2013.

The Beijing event will take place on November 2, followed by Shanghai on November 9. This year also sees a third city — Hong Kong — being added on November 16, CFFC announced Tuesday.

Last year's sold-out Beijing shindig saw 40 of Beijing's top restaurants participate. The combined two-city extravaganza raised RMB 400,000 for two organizations: Little Flower Projects and The Starfish Project, assisting children in need and exploited women in Asia, respectively. Nominations for this year's charity partners are being accepted through May 29.

Founded in 2009 by Beijing residents Michael and Joanna Crain, the bi-annual event (a smaller vintners' dinner is held each spring) has raised over RMB 1.7 million for various causes.
