The Show Must Go On: If It Rains, We Get Wet

As Great Leap supremo Carl Setzer says ...

The esteemed Jessica Rapp is off riding elephants or something this week so I have stepped into her sizable shoes to provide this week's round-up of all things nightlife.

Pretty busy week by all accounts. But firstly, how did you enjoy the Great Wall Music Festival? Even a good old drenching couldn't wash that party out. We forgot our camera (d'oh!), but luckily the razor sharp kids over at Smart Beijing didn't. Here's what they saw. Let us know how you enjoyed it down below.

Carl Setzer reckons no amount of rain will put a dampener on the Beijing Craft Beer Festival which is just kicking off its two-day guzzle fest over at Galaxy Soho. As the man himself told me yesterday: "If its an early pisser then I'm sure the good people of Beijing won't be too put off if it clears up later on. We're a hearty sort." He might just be right.

Live Beijing Music has been attending and documenting Beijing's underground music for the best part of two and a half years and now it's time for them to throw a party of their own. Expect: The Big Wave, The Diders, Heat Mark and Cat AIDS. Don't expect: smooth sailing.

To mark World No Tobacco Day we brought you a list of lung-friendly venues you can check out around town. Check out that list here.

We grabbed a quick word with Stephen Rocard, inventor extraordinaire of the Mala Mule concoction, which you voted as your Best Individual Cocktail in this year's Reader Bar & Club Awards. You can see that interview right here.

We also spoke to Bite-Size Buddha of Funk Fever, which is the party that you voted as Best Regular Event for 2014. You can read what he had to say here.

4corners is returning (hurrah!). The hutong favorite has been cloistered for a while following a spot of cosmetic surgery, but it's coming out with a big unveiling on June 13 (more about that in next week's Talking Pints). But we spoke to manager Jun Trinh to find out what 4corners 2.0 (3.0? 4.0??) has in store.

Aside from crafty grog this weekend:

Plenty more to keep you occupied here, but whatever it is you get up to this weekend, have fun doing it.
