Wasabi Sound's Eric Lee Hospitalized and Seeking Donations, The Beijinger's Annual Chili Pepper Eating Contest

Wasabi Sound's Eric Lee was in a terrible car crash and needs your help. His condition has since stabilized following a craniotomy on Sunday and he seems to be responding to treatments, but he will still need a considerable amount of help from his friends and followers of Wasabi Sound to pay off a large sum in medical bills.

Jolly and Oscar Chang, have created an easy way for you to help out. You can go to Alipay where funds can be transferred to the account of wasabisound@gmail.com. If you don’t have an Alipay account, you can also stop Cafe Zarah, where they are also accepting donations.

Oscar and Jolly will disclose the proof of acceptance from Eric’s family every three days. Just so you know that it is going to the right hands. Though he is now recovering from the surgery, doctors say he is unable to have visitors in order to prevent secondary infections. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Jolly on 18618285517 or Oscar Chang on 18710132787.

Sweat it out as we celebrate Canada Day, at the Canadian International School, with the annual Beijinger chili pepper eating contest on June 28. We are looking for 10 contestants willing to set their mouths ablaze. If you have what it takes to gobble down handfuls of hot chilies then make sure to shoot us an email here, before June 28 to register.

There will be prizes worth up to RMB 1,200 for first place, RMB 800 for second, and RMB 400 for third. All participants will get a food voucher valued at RMB 200 and free entry to the event. The Canada Day festivities begin at 3pm, and the Beijinger chili eating contest begins at 4.30pm.

Last year our chili-chomping contestants battled it out in the ultimate taste bud endurance test, and Daniel Mulroy took away the winning title by eating 51 peppers. This performance topped the 46 peppers that got him first place in 2012. Let's see who’s up for the challenge of dismantling the current champion's impressive performance.

For ticket prices and booking information, email canadaday@ccbc.com.cn or call (8526 1820).
