Ellie Goulding and Richard Marx to Gig Beijing in August

A little bird told us that Ellie Goulding will be performing at the Beijing Exhibition Theater on August 14. With soprano vox somewhere between Freddie Mercury and Bjork, she has won numerous awards, collaborated with Skrillex and performed at the royal wedding reception of William and Catherine. Those are a lot of accomplishments for a 27 year old from little Lyonshall (population 750).

For those endless summer nights, check out 80s/90s pop icon Richard Marx. In the days where big hair and scruffy dramatic male vocals reigned, he was king. I can remember like it was yesterday, the cool voice of Casey Kasem on my Sony Walkman (rest in peace, sir) leading into Richard’s songs on the America's Top 40 radio program.

Though I am unfortunately deathly allergic to sincere blistering sax solos and gated snare drums, in the late 80's he was America's premiere act in the soft man rock genre. His songs have been used as the soundtrack to dramatic breakups, and extended make out/heavy petting sessions the world over. Don't worry baby, Richard is gonna make it all better.

Richard is due to play the Beijing Exhibition Theatre of August 1, with ticket prices ranging from RMB 180 to RMB 880 and can be purchased over at T3.
