Stuffy Officials Go For the Jugular of Gulou Vamp Haunt

Beijing's legions of suckers might be about to go thirsty: a government food safety watchdog has banned the sale of "blood" drinks on the grounds of unsafe packaging.

Caixin Online reports that the vampire drinks which have proved popular among young Twilight movie fans with money to burn have been banned "in part because their labeling fell short of standards."

The news might come as a stake to the heart of pint-sized Gulou blood-pedaller Vampire in Beijing, which appears to almost exclusively sell the fruity, revolting product.

Maybe it's time to start selling faux transmission fluid to cash in on the continuing popularity of Transformers in China. Or maybe people could just grow up.

Much more inciteful and less judgemental article found here, albeit for a similarly themed bar up in Liaoning.
