Maovember Beats Initial 2014 Fundraising Goal

After just ten days of November, fundraising drive Maovember has already smashed its initial goal of RMB 20,000 by bringing in over RMB 28,000, including RMB 7,000 from Sunday's three-venue event smackdown.

All proceeds will benefit Orbis China, which provides sight-restoring cataract surgery to people in need in rural areas of China. The money already raised will fund 35 surgeries, and with 20 days left in the Maovember drive, even more are now in ... sight.

Sunday's "Facial Hair Fun," with stops at Home Plate Bar-B-Que, 京A, and The Local, and brought in a combined RMB 7,548. The event featured pulled pork sandwiches from a roasted and smoked organic pig donated by 京A.
