Beijingers Face China's Longest Average Commute

We thought this story might be a bit easier to take on a Saturday, when most people are not heading to work. But Beijingers spend more time traveling to work than people in any other major city in China.

Beijingers can console themselves with the fact that while they spend on average 97 minutes going to work each day, other major cities, like Shanghai and Guangzhou, were close at 94 and 90 minutes, respectively.

That's also a combined figure, so it's about 45-50 minutes in motion in each direction, not a shocking three hours or more spent on tcommuting each day.
