EAT: Spring Promotions, Juice by Melissa Clothes Swap, Food Discounts for Wearing Heels

Spring is here in Beijing today's terrible weather aside and with it comes a whole raft of new openings and promotions.

New organic deli and takeaway Napa Artisan Food (which I blogged about last week) is fully open as of Saturday. Catch them 11am-8pm every day except Monday for one of their organic salads or warming comfort dishes.

The newest iteration of Mr Shi's growing dumpling empire, on the backstreet in Sanlitun opposite the old Heaven location, is holding an opening party this Thursday, featuring all-you-can-drink beer and all-you-can-eat dumplings for just RMB 100. Bound to be busy this one, so book ahead for one of the two seatings at 6pm or 8.30pm.

Just around the corner, we hear the new Tavalin Bagels spot started selling bagels this morning at 10am and plan to have a full opening party this Saturday.

Sanlitun south favorite Okra 1949 has released a new spring set menu, showcasing their collaboration with Little Willow Farm and using the best seasonal produce. The frequently-changing six course menu costs just RMB 300, with only eight sets being produced every day, so make sure you book well in advance. We'll be checking this one out later in the week, so stay tuned for a longer blog post.

For a touch of spring cleaning for the body AND the wardrobe, head over to Juice by Melissa with your excess clothes and accessories and swap your stuff for a whole new outfit while sipping on fresh Mimosa's and Bloody Marys.

Finally, don't forget it's Easter this weekend head over to our events round-up blog for all the best events and brunches happening around town.

The one promotion you shouldn't miss this week:

Taking home the prize for most reductive marketing this week is Huoban BBQ, an insanely popular grill restaurant in Dongzhimen. They are offering discounts for women wearing high heels the higher the heel, the higher the discount. Thinking about it, they never specified women ... time to learn to walk in heels boys.
