Where is 'Dad, Where Are We Going?': Scheduled TV Programming to Halt During 70th Anniversary Celebrations

Eight of China’s top satellite TV channels will disrupt normally scheduled entertainment broadcasts from September 1-5 as the country celebrates the 70th anniversary of World War Two, or as we like to call it, the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.

Shows like the ever popular Dad, Where Are We Going? and The Voice, will make way for programming about Chinese resistance and live broadcasts from the parade route on Sep 3. The parade will feature processions of soldiers in full military regalia, tanks, and aerial displays. It’s going to be a huge production, which explains all the street closures and precautionary actions we’ve experienced leading up to the event.

If you really want to get into the spirit of the event, make sure to check out the Cairo Declaration, which will debut on September 3. Here’s what critics are saying about this “historically accurate” depiction of the 1943 Cairo summit, released to coincide with the 70th anniversary.
