While you may think this holiday weekend would best be spent indoors with the all of the creature comforts of home, there are still a variety of events happening from Friday to Sunday to satisfy those animalistic hungers that can only be quenched by some quality nightlife activity. Here’s a short list of things you can definitely look forward to:
 

Sep 3 and 4: Anchors Aweigh with Moonglow Burlesque
The ladies behind Moonglow Burlesque will be celebrating a different kind of independence this weekend at Modernista. Get aboard, as they tell the story of a young woman who falls in love and discovers independence in 1940s New York, told through a montage of authentic period songs, dance, and burlesque featuring Kate Smith and the beauties of Moonglow. Sep 4: Dance to Fight HIV/AIDS
Migas is throwing an amazingly worthwhile party on its rooftop terrace this Friday with part of the entrance fee going towards the China AIDS Walk initiative. This charity event will specifically help children infected in the Daliangshan Mountain area of Sichuan province, where many are in need basic relief. To kick the event into action, Migas will be enlisting the help of Crystal Bones and Nassdak to bring you an overwhelming repertoire of music to put you in the giving spirit. There will also be a stand for information and some goods for sale at the charity bazaar. 10pm. RMB 50. The Bar at Migas

 

Sep 4-6: Là Bas Bar 1 Year Anniversary
Come celebrate with Là Bas Bar as they celebrate one year in biz with a massive weekend of art, music, and film. Fifteen musicians are scheduled to play throughout the weekend, accompanied by a photographic exhibition called “Sound in Silence” from Chalffy Chan, and a selection of four art films screening on Sunday. Sep 5: The Do-Over by Adidas Original

One of the biggest backyard parties in the world is going global for their 10th anniversary. The Do-Over has organized massive parties over 10 days, in 10 cities, at 10 block parties, including the Migas rooftop as their Beijing pit stop. Expect plenty of day drinking under the sun, dancing, and a mystery cast of international guest DJs. Get over to the Migas terrace and see for yourself why the hype is well-deserved. Free. 6pm-10pm.
