Yashow Appears Set for Sep 18 Re-Opening with Major League Baseball as Tenant

Yashow Market will open on or about September 18, more than two months after its projected re-opening of July 1, with Major League Baseball as a primary tenant, sources close to the shopping mall told the Beijinger.

Yashow, (Yaxiu, 雅秀), closed December 31, 2014, for what was projected to be a six-month renovation. While the building's exterior was revealed in mid-July, the formerly down-market rabbit warren of stalls is giving way to an upmarket collection of proper shops set to compete with Taikoo Li next door. Representatives for Yashow were unavailable to comment during the three-day holiday.

In a May interview, a representative said they were looking for brands that are “young, fashionable, characteristic and upscale.” They only began signing tenants on May 8, though they have already ironed out a flagship Major League Baseball (MLB) apparel store on the first floor, the representative said.

As we previously reported, gone will be the DVD/CD merchants, watch sellers and children's clothes stalls, Liu said, though bespoke tailoring shops, silk shops and jewelry stores will still be allowed in the marketplace. Each floor of the new complex will be assigned a theme and the whole fifth floor will be a food court. The basement will feature outdoor apparel, suitcases, bags, and shoes; the first floor international brands, second floor local brands, third floor for bespoke shops and furniture, and fourth floor cosmetics and jewelry.

yeah,, my mistake,,, but the crackdown on knockoff markets is stupid in my opinion,,, i agree and hope it flops big time,,, and returns back to what it was,,, same thing for the silk market....

asking, where did the athletic shoe shops go to from the basement in the silk market,,, their knockoffs are pretty darn good!!! i would like to find them and continue to buy from them,,,, especially the New Balance styles

agreed its screwed and a useless place to go -- but has nothing to do with the government. If anything you should say "f**k capitalism"

the good news is I forecast this version of the mall will not last a year before it closes entirely or shifts back to a cheapie market
