Fans of fine dining and the good things in life, get excited: because Danish lifestyle brand Georg Jensen, best known for their silverware, have just opened a concept space called The Georg on the banks of the Jade River (the restored hutong area just west of the south entrance of Nanluogu Xiang), including a lounge, restaurant, and gallery displaying their products.

Naturally, we're most excited about the restaurant and based on initial reports coming from other people who have visited, we should be. Local luxury travel experience company Bespoke Beijing commented that The Georg's attractive space "is rivalled if not outdone by its modern Danish food" adding that "every dish was a delight."

Here's what The Georg's website has to say about the restaurant:

"The Restaurant at The Georg, is the first dining experience under Georg Jensen. In line with the culture of Georg Jensen, the food at the restaurant will focus on quality, simplicity and respect for the craft, using western techniques and fine-dining standards to interpret local ingredients and flavors. Our executive chef has extensive experience in some of the world's top kitchens, including time in the international culinary scene and Michelin awarded restaurants."

The menu is structured simply every dish is priced at RMB 130 or they will put together set menu for the table for RMB 450. Wine pairing is an additional RMB 450 per person. The names of the dishes  "shrimp - egg - tarragon," "seared cod - kale - barley" don't reveal much about their contents, so you'll visit yourself to find out more (or read Bespoke Beijing's review).

The restaurant is open for dinner from Monday to Saturday, 6-10.30pm, while the accompanying lounge space is open from 10.30am to midnight seven days a week.
