TEDxBeijing Postpones December Event to January

TEDxBeijing has postponed its scheduled December event, with a view to a new date in January 2016, the organization announced in an email Thursday.

"With the recent events in Paris, and increased security measures worldwide we have come to the hard decision of having to postpone the December 6 event. Increased security in Beijing have led multiple venues to delay events and activities," TEDxBeijing wrote.

Ticket holders may retain their tickets, which will be valid for the January event, or request a refund, which will be processed within a week, the group said. Those wishing to keep their tickets should respond to the event postponement email they received, otherwise they will receive an automatic refund.

TEDxBeijing is a program of local, self-organized events that brings people together to share a TED-like experience, referring to the Technology, Education and Design (TED) conference held annually. The first TEDxBeijing event was hosted in 2010.
