Get a Suave Hutong Haircut Courtesy of 京A at Cu Ju, Jan 30

This Sunday (Jan 30), drop by Cu Ju between 12-5pm and get a free haircut with the purchase of a 京A beer. This hutong beautician will be there all day chopping the hair off the masses, to make sure you’re looking fine before Chinese New Year descends.

Apparently it is bad luck to get your hair cut for a month after the new year. This bad luck is focused on your uncles for some reason. Maybe you don’t even like your uncle because he’s a Trump supporter, so this wouldn’t be the worst superstition to break. But still it’s also great to greet the new lunar cycle with a free trim.

Drinking beer also has a calming effect when going under the scissors, which if you’re like me and get extremely nervous with sharp, pointy things circulating your melon, a beer is a must. Also, as stated by the organizers, there will be no free beer for the stylist until after the gig’s end.

They will also have a bunch of 京A toques for sale (RMB 100). These wool blend hats will help keep that noggin warm or help you hide your mediocre haircut till it grows out a bit. Last time we checked it was still pretty nippy out, and as we’re told again and again throughout the winter months, “most of the heat leaves your body through the head” (but which has been debunked). Head here for more info about the event.

Unfortunately the Chinese Bill Clinton had a prior engagement for the US Embassy's Chinese New Year Party, so he's sending Chinese Roger Clinton instead... Still, he should have some interesting stories to share!

Oh my god is it really going to be the Chinese Bill Clinton pictured above giving the haircut? If so I'd do it for the photo opp alone
