Beijing Goes Back to Work Sunday, but It's Still Saturday Night

So Sunday is one of our working weekends for 2016, the first of four Sundays we'll be at work this year (don't worry, the next one's not until June). Fireworks are not longer for sale and temple fairs are over, but it's still Saturday night and there's plenty to do before the holiday ends. Here are four quick picks, click the event title for more information on time and venue.

Star Trek: The Exhibition: Geek to the max at this look at the history of the Star Trek franchise, including a full-scale replica of the bridge of the USS Enterprise (visit yourself to see which NCC-1701 it is). Open until 10pm, this exhibition ends on February 22. Read our columnist Morgan Short's write-up of his visit.

The Corner Melt's 8-Bit Takeover: Former Xingfu Ercun favorite Corner Melt takes over video game den 8-Bit, with Jimi Sides bringing back his classic melts such as the three cheese; turkey, bacon, and avocado; tomato soup; and a whole lot of surprises for the night. There will also be a Big Lebowski theme with the movie being screened at 6pm. RMB 35 special for white Russians and also a Wii bowling competition from 10pm.

RBS Six Nations Rugby/English Premier League: Fans of the "olive ball" will go shoulder to shoulder with football (soccer) fans for elbow room at Paddy O'Shea's, as the Six Nations (England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, Wales) continue their clashes, and English Premier League teams including Sunderland versus Manchester United face off. Football starts around 8.30pm, rugby around 10pm.

1001 Nights: The Caracalla Dance Theatre is proud to return to perform in Beijing, especially at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, with its latest production of One Thousand and One Nights. Starts at 7.30pm. More information here.
