Check out 'Katia's Sister' with Director and Scriptwriter Q&A, Part of China Women's Film Festival, Mar 21-22

The Crossroads Centre Beijing, in cooperation with the Netherlands and French embassies, is organizing screenings of Katia’s Sister, each followed by a Q&A with the film’s director and scriptwriter. The screenings will take place this evening (Mar 21) and tomorrow (Mar 22), and are part of the Third China Women's Film Festival, which started last September.

The film follows Lucia, who some people find removed from reality. Lucia's sister Katia, even thinks that her sibling is stupid, but this is only a first impression, perhaps a result of her subconscious desire to remain a child. Lucia's mother is drawn into the world of prostitution, and soon Katia succumbs to that same dire fate. As a result, Lucia becomes increasingly isolated, creating her own protective universe in which she sacrifices a lot.
