Wildly Inappropriate WeChat Stickers for God Knows What Occasion

Anyone using WeChat to communicate with friends overseas quickly realizes that for the most part, users outside of China have access to much more creative sets of stickers than we here, in the app's home country, are limited to.

Here in China our selection of stickers fall into three categories: 1) Overtly commercial; 2) way too cutesy to be used by anyone this side of a 16-year-old schoolgirl; or 3) so whacked-out as to border on the psychotic.

Given communication is rapidly descending into basically nothing but an exchange of expressionally-appropriate emoticons rather than actual language, it behooves us to comment on how quite literally shitty the selection of WeChat stickers is here in the Middle Kingdom.

Most of the freebies are poorly drawn as a point of pride, and appear to have been created by people who have lost some touch with reality. In fact I suspect most are made by institutionalized prisoners who only other hobbies aside from WeChat sticker designing is to fling their own feces at the passing warden.

Practically every sticker collection contains at least one rather graphic depiction of bodily functions, such as projectile vomiting, nose picking, and of course the ever-popular fighting to squeeze a recalcitrant turd out of your butt while sitting on the toilet.

I guess you really have to be good friends with someone to react to their WeChat comments by sending off a picture of a constipated cartoon figure straining and sweating to defecate. Or maybe I am missing something about Chinese culture ... is this a thing?

Of course if your prefer the less scatalogical, you can always opt for the inappropriately homoerotic, the casually racist, or the excessively violent.
