Apr 29: Drum Rider Label Showcase 1: Acid Arab, 3He + Wang Yi Jie, Dumb Plants, Ni Bing
Get ready as this duo brings a spectacular mix of eastern sounds (North Africa, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey, Mumbai, and so on) and sends it through an acid house time warp. Acid Arab have previously worked with Syrian star Omar Souleyman, and have also supported Gilles Peterson, Lovefingers, TLR, Skudge, Tim Sweeney, and Radio Nova. Apr 29: SHFT Presents Mr. Carmack and Jarreau Vandal
Mr. Carmack of Soulection and labelmate Jarreau Vandal will be blurring the distinction between hip-hop and dance music to create a progressive, freak-friendly blend that will leave white bread producers scratching their heads. Expect a night of pristine explorations of the space between synth-funk, trap, ambient, and, of course, dope beats. Support comes courtesy of Oshi, Shackup, Bloodzboi, and PuzzyStack. RMB 120. 10pm. Apr 30: ShadowPlay presents Full_Screen
Full_Screen is a new initiative from Shadowplay, aiming to transform spaces with installation art and music to create completely immersive multi-sensory experiences. Pretty heady stuff if you ask us. Some of the noteworthy performers coming in for this mind-altering occasion include Anthony Parasole (Ostgut Ton / NYC), Syracuse (Antinote / Paris), Rahaan (Street Edits / Chicago), Tom Huet (Paris), Addictive TV (London), and Pan Daijing (Berlin). Experience Singapore's Darker Than Wax crew this weekend as they bring in their anything-but-bubblegum blend of multicultural dance music. Darker Than Wax have been making waves globally with their eclectic beat music productions and far-out approach towards helping their native polyrhythmic grooves progress to scenes worldwide, spinning a vast number genres that will no doubt get your feet moving. May 1: Chopstick & Johnjon
A decade has passed since these masterminds behind the Suol label set out as Chopstick & Johnjon with a clear mission to blaze a trail through the international house and techno scenes. Behind the decks they are perfectly in sync, like a drawn-out foreplay session, mastering the art of tease and button pressing to send you into aural bliss, and consummate experts at bringing a party to the boil at 116 BPM.
