Moving? The Best Apartments Currently on the Beijinger Classifieds

Our landlord just jacked up our rent by RMB 2,000 per month. Although this was for the entire three-bedroom flat in an area that is  increasingly popular, that's still a huge increase, and we didn't exactly have enough notice to move. If you end up in the same situation this summer, or you're actively looking to move, our Classifieds section is a pretty good place to pick up a new flat, whether it's just a room or an entire apartment. This is especially true in the summer, when many people leave the country and thus their gorgeous apartments.

Even if you're not looking to move, the listings are pretty hilarious, as it seems real estate agents have never thought of cleaning up before posting their apartments online for the world to see.

Things to keep in mind when hunting for new apartments

  • Apartments posted online can go quickly.
  • Sometimes, if apartments look too good to be true, they are.
  • Regardless of both of these things, it is often still worth contacting the agent as they will have more apartments similar to it and in the same neighborhood.
  • Make sure to check whether you have to pay an agency fee of one month's rent on top of your month deposit and three months rent.
  • If you know of a neighborhood that you like, visit real estate agents in the neighborhood too. Dropping in can really yield some different results than searching online.

What I find difficult is that when you look at listings online, then contact the agent, you are always told "Oh, that one isn't available anymore. All we have is one that is more expensive."

Listings seem to rarely be removed, especially from Anzhuke, so it's hard to tell how recent one is.

Yeah, but if you stick to your price they usually have other apartments in the same price category as the initial listing.

What a bizarre comment. Just because a flat isn't cleaned up for the photo shoot doesn't mean it isn't worth renting and moving in and cleaning up - surely you clean up when you move into a place all the time anyway.

That doesn't mean the apartments aren't worth renting, just that neither the landlords nor the agents present them in their best light or state of repair.

My advice: If you can use Chinese, i suggest you guys can download the app call Dingding Zufang (丁丁租房), they are an agency company but better than the others, also you can negotiate with them about the agency fee and most of the pictures of apartment in their app are real. As one of their agency just help us to find a new apartment with good price and good service. Also in the app you can book the date and time to see a apartment that you like, they will call you to confirm the time again, not crazy call you everyday like the other agency.

This is my advice if you want the agency help you to find apartment.

Love me who I am
