Raunchy Standup Louis Katz Set to Perform at The Bookworm, Sep 25

Comedy fans often fall into one of two camps: low brow or high. Louis Katz (performing at The Bookworm on September 25) is one of the few standups trying to appeal to both.

That effort has helped the comic headline internationally, snag appearances on hit shows like Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (which is, of course, America's most watched late night show), and become a writer and correspondent on the short lived, criminally underrated series Totally Biased with W Kamau Bell (think The Daily Show, but even edgier and more insightful).

One of Katz's most popular routines is essentially a rant about his former hippie roommate and her cat named Dave Meowthews (best line: "The next time you want to play the didgeridoo, didgeri-DON'T; to view click here to watch). And while that anti-hippie bit is one of his goofier, more innocuous works, Katz has also dug deeper on other routines, especially one where he eviscerates America's drug and sex education programs (click here). Above all, however, Katz seems to enjoy testing his audience's limits by telling one raunchy joke after another, which you can see for yourself by clicking here and here, but only if you're not faint of heart.

Comedian Louis Katz will perform at The Bookworm on September 25 at 8pm. Molly Ruben-Long, also happens to be his girlfriend, will open for him (check out her Twitter here). Tickets are RMB 150 in advance, RMB 180 at the door. For more information, click here (scroll down to see information about Katz's gig), or check out the poster above.
