Weekend in Nightlife: Back to the Future, Shackleton, Daniel Miller, Concrete Jungle, Cheers Topwin Opening

It's looking to be a big weekend at the city's hottest spots with Antidote's 11th anniversary bringing international names to Dada, and Peng taking the floor at The Bar at Migas on Friday, and concrete jungle on Saturday.

Friday, September 23

Peng Party Animals Vol. 7: Animal Wedding
Peng is getting married! Well, Santi, the mind behind Peng’s visual identity is getting married, and this party is in his honor. Party Animals hits the rooftop again, and it will undoubtedly be a wild one. Come dance with DJs Pancake Lee and friends. 10pm-4.30am. RMB 60. The Bar at Migas

Antidote Presents Shackleton
He's played Shanghai a few times, but this Friday will be Shackleton's first appearance in Beijing. This UK-born, Berlin-living producer and DJ started the Skull Disco and Woe To The Septic Heart! labels, and released on Honest Johns, among others. His music is often associated with early dubstep and experimental techno, and is challenging, haunting, hypnotic, and surprisingly dance floor friendly. 9pm-late. Ticket TBC. Dada

Back to the Future: This is Not D-22
The D-22 days that launched the careers of Beijing rock bands such as Hedgehog, Queen Sea Big Shark, Snapline, and Carsick Cars may be long gone, but this weekend Vice is bringing it back. Check out Lonely Leary, Future Orients, Birdstriking, Dirty Fingers, and piles of nostalgia. There will also be cheap pizza and beer. 10.30pm-late. RMB 100 (includes one drink). Laker's Wudaokou

Saturday, September 24

Antidote 11th Anniversary Asia
Antidote celebrates 11 years of China parties at Dada this Saturday with special guest Daniel Miller, founder of trailblazing UK record label Mute and recording artist The Normal. Mute launched in 1978 with Miller's own 7” single – ‘Warm Leatherette’ – under the name The Normal. Since then, the label has grown from Miller’s one-man operation into a global group of companies and today, as ever, Miller remains heavily focused on Mute’s creative output. 9pm-late. Ticket TBC. Dada

Concrete Jungle
Migas’ funkiest resident DJ, Cad 73, is back with his weekend party of funk, hip-hop, reggae, afrobeat, disco, soul, and more. This time around, fellow Migas’ resident and disco connoisseur, Boflex, will be bringing his own brand grooves to the jungle. 10pm-4.30am. RMB 60. The Bar at Migas
