EAT: Free Breakfast at Miss Muesli's 2nd Birthday, TRB Kitchen Takeover by Blend From the Netherlands, Hatchery Opening

As the mercury drops, Beijing's food and beverage scene is showing no signs of letting up.

Firstly, Miss Muesli celebrates their second birthday at Culture Yard on Sunday (Oct 30). To celebrate this milestone they are inviting everyone to come and enjoy a bowl (or two, or three, or four – it's all you can eat!) of tasty homemade muesli and granola. Mix ingredients to your taste and get over your Halloween with a delicious breakfast between 11am and 12.30am.

Also, fresh talent makes its way to Beijing's TRB Bites for their The Young and The Restless: TRB Bites Kitchen Takeover by Blend. This two-day event (Nov 6 and 7, dinnertime) features Dutch brothers Hendrik and Kamiel (pictured at top), who are known collectively as Blend. They'll be putting together a feast centered around creative cooking, innovative cocktails, with a fun and original twist.

Make sure you get in touch with TRB Bites in advance to book your seats, which come at RMB 680 (plus 10 percent service charge) per person and are likely to go fast.

Further northeast, around Dongsi, Hatchery will be opening their doors daily from tomorrow (Oct 26), with Soul Bowls taking the daylight hours, 8am-5pm, and Buena Onda dishing up 5-10.30pm (and a little later on weekends, of course). During their soft opening they will have an all-day happy hour (RMB 10 off house wines, beer, and cider) and 20 percent off your second visit if you fill out the feedback form after your first.

And finally, a little reminder to remember to vote in the Sweet 16 round of the Beijinger's 2016 Pizza Cup. Don't let your favorite 'za get eliminated just because you were too lazy to fill in your ballot. Click here to cast your vote.
