Fall Out Boy to Make Beijing Dance, Dance at Wukesong Cadillac Arena, May 7

If the changing of the seasons has you feeling a little emo and in need of some peppy pop-punk to pick you up, then you’re in luck. That’s because Fall Out Boy is making its way to Beijing on May 7.

The Windy City, radio-friendly punk troupe arguably became the poster boys for the mid-'00s emo scene, thanks to ubiquitous hits like “Dance, Dance” and “Sugar, We’re Going Down”. While their grasp on the angsty middle and high school set is by no means as firm as it was circa their 2005 breakthrough LP From Under the Cork Tree (from which those aforementioned chart-topping songs were released), the band still maintains and enthused following.

Oddly enough, Fall Out Boy has also won over a considerable number of the critics who turned their nose up and dismissed the band as sugary pop-punk in their heyday. More recent LPs like American Beauty/American Psyho and Save Rock and Roll garnered significant critical acclaim (read more about that here).

Tickets for their Beijing gig at the Cadillac Arena in Wukesong (formerly the LeSports Center and Huaxi Live) went on sale today and cost between RMB 380 and 1,280. For more information, click here.
