Get ready for Vegans of Beijing's latest Vegan Outreach Dinner, taking place at Pebbles on Wednesday, Jun 20. Located on Wudaoying Hutong, Pebbles is helmed by chef/owner Ray Heng, who trained under award-winning chef Rick Bayless. Heng has been working hard to create a truly diverse Mexican menu and now the menu at Pebbles is among the most vegan-friendly in Beijing, particularly among Mexican restaurants. The menu for the Vegan Outreach Dinner, priced at RMB 128 per person, kicks off with homemade chips and salsa, followed by an appetizer of vegan cheese empanada and a set of four tacos including wilted chard with guajillo sauce and vegan chorizo topped with fresh almond cheese. Register and pay here – definitely one for vegans and non-vegans alike! Vegans of Beijing is a group of foreign and local volunteers committed to spreading the vegan message in China. Their aim is to make living a plant-based lifestyle as easy and accessible as possible and grow a community of like-minded and conscious people through events and activities.

Speaking of vegetarian options, there are plenty on the menu at Side Street, which is now open for lunch and brunch every day. They have added wraps, salads, soups and new drinks to the menu, including healthy items such as hummus wraps, spicy red bean curry wraps, and spicy Tandoori chicken wraps. Doors open every day at 11.30am.
