Another weekend in Beijing ... but what a weekend it'll be. First of all, there's our Ninth Annual Reader Bar & Club Awards. For RMB 100, you can drink your fill and devour as much as finger food as you leave room for. It takes place at Sanlitun Soho on Saturday. It starts at 2.30pm, runs till 8pm and the only thing that really matters is that you sport some beach wear.

Gratuitous plug over. What else is going on? Well, it's the Champions' League Final a mere 12 hours of imbibing after our awards. England's Chelsea and Germany's Bayern Munich star in the final that no one wanted but everyone should watch. Here's a roundup of suggestions where to watch the game (and any confirmed deals). The game is on terrestrial TV as well as satellite so it should be available everywhere. Do call ahead to confirm.

Beginning with news of another new opening; Little Britain is almost ready to open its doors in Lido and will be firing on all cylinders come Friday. With a food menu featuring traditional hearty British fare like fish and chips, bangers and mash (sausages and mashed potatoes to any non-UK readers) and, of course, the great British breakfast, complemented by RMB 50 Guinness and daily happy hours, Little Britain will serve as a welcome alternative for the Lido drinking set.

After just a three-day work week, we can get back to enjoying the fruits of summer tomorrow as the Beijing temperature heats up. One joint you should make the most of is Punk at the Opposite House. We just received confirmation from the hotel that the nightlife titan is set to close its doors for the last time on May 19th with a closing party. They also mentioned that it's set to be replaced somewhere along the line by "something yummy", and that Punk will still be available for private parties until then.

A super-sized Talking Pints this week, given that the 'weekend' spills into next week.

Kick off your holiday weekend tomorrow if you want, but do remember that Saturday is a working day for most of us.

Over at Haze they may have forgotten, as they've asked resident DJs Pancake Lee, Kaize and Max Feelgood to kick start your Labor Day weekend early. Alternatively, Lantern is hosting ELVIS T's album release. Suppose you can always call in sick on Saturday. That's not an option for some of us.

Migas is declaring the summer season to be officially upon us by opening up its much-anticipated expanded terrace to the public this weekend. To mark the occasion, they'll be holding a Terrace Opening party over both Friday and Saturday nights. It's massive, we've been told.
