The Germans are invading London this weekend. Settle down, it's to be a short-lived and very localized coup d'état for the final of the UEFA Champions League on Saturday (May 25) when Bundesliga champions and four-time Champions League winners Bayern Munich take on Bundesliga runners-up and 1997 champions Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium.

Fan Bingbing and Li Bingbing, the Beijing-based actresses, are making significant inroads this month to expand their Hollywood careers and international presence. Quite the change from their filmographies to date, which have been mostly shot in our fair city (in fact, Fan is best known for Lost In Beijing).

Nova Heart’s latest music video just finished shooting in Beijing. It's for the track Beautiful Boys - a name inspired by a group of transvestite prostitutes the band's frontwoman, Helen Feng, encountered in Italy. The video draws from the same story, showing a cross-dresser in compromising situations at different locations around Beijing. We got a hold of some photos from the set. It seems the band, film crew and a cross-dresser, by the name of Le Le (who also does a regular drag show in Chengde), ran amok in massage parlors, KTV joints and Caochangdi night markets.

Seems Beijing is a pretty good place to eat, at least according to The Daily Meal and its ranking of 101 Best Restaurant in Asia.

Japanese-run bakery Gang Gang Delicatessen has opened a new outlet on the ground floor of Building One in the Huamao International Apartments. The small bakery is called Coats and owner Shin Ichi describes it as a collaboration with the hair salon Bangs who have opened another branch of their venue next door. Swing by Coats for a coffee or sandwich anytime between 7am-9pm.

Last weekend, Dongsi Liutiao rooftop cafe and bar The Fort opened and further south, the restaurant and cafe The Woods began service in Central Park.

The mysterious streaker who has been photographed running across Beijing streets with items including a crucifix and a sex doll has been exposed as artist Li Binyuan, a graduate of the Central Academy of Fine Arts.

Li seems to have revealed himself because although his midnight streaks through Wangjing have gone viral (NSFW), his claimed 10 dashes have only been recorded or posted six times. Let's face it: if you're a performance artist running naked through the streets of Beijing and surprised drivers only photographed or videoed you six times, that's just not enough exposure.

The Galaxy Soho was alive with wild animals Saturday – tigers, chimps and even dragons were on the scene to celebrate The Beijinger's 10th Annual Reader Bar & Club Awards. More than 500 nightlife personalities and readers joined in on the fun and helped celebrate the winners, fueled by free flowing drinks, eye-catching performances, and food. We caught some shots of the action below.
