Hello Beijing,

I'm a British student studying here till July '09, and a little frustrated by how little football I'm playing at the moment. IDEAL scenario would be to join a team of some sort that was playing regularly and looking for someone to fill in (maybe someone just went home/broke a leg) - would be even better if that team was in some sort of organised league. Do these exist?

Aside from that, anyone got any other tips on how I can get involved somewhere - is there a league somewhere that I can get my own team to join? Any useful websites? Any weekly tournaments that you can just turn up to with some friends?

I am an American new to Beijing. I am interested in starting to learn how to dance. I have NEVER even tried before so I am a total beginner. I am not sure where to start, but I think it would be fun to have a partner to either take classes together or someone who is more experienced and can help a beginner get started. Also, if anyone has any recommendations of places to learn here in Beijing that advice would be appreciatted too. I am not tall, so it would be good if you aren't too tall so it would make practicing easier.

I love WuShu,a volunteer for Beijng Wushu Association'Mantis Quan Association, it is a part of my life, it brings happies to me.
It is not just KUNGFU,also It is a kind of spirit and aulture lasting thousand years
Traditional Wushu specialize on defence and attact techniques(unarmed combatting), is quite different from Wushu which is in competitions. As well some Traditional Group of Wushu is good in view too,such as Mantis Quan.

I am an American who recently moved to Beijing. I am looking for someone who likes to play backgammon or chess. I had learned to play backgammon several years ago, but now I have forgotten and I would like to start playing again. If you like backgammon and wouldn't mind a beginner then I would like to find some time to play. Also, my chess is a little better, but I am far from an advanced player or anything. I don't care if you are male or female, or what nationality you are. I think it would be best if you are another foreigner though.

Hey guys!

I'm getting back my band together after a year holding back, and one guy is missing. Need a lead-guitarist, who might know how to sing a bit to back me up.

We've been playing in Beijing for 4 years now, changed a lot of people and a few band names. 3 guys, all westerners, sing only in English. Did our own songs with a little mix of cool covers.
Most of the people knew us as The Outbreakers and earlier as Beerjing. It was a punk-post-punk-hardcore band. Now planning to go for something less trashy, do more vocals, clean guitar sounds. More rock and roll...want to mix up styles a little, play whatever we feel like(american rock,grunge,punk,ska,maybe a bit of metal), and not just stick to straight punk rock.

So, if you like music, wanna have some fun, play shows..Call me, we'll tryout and jam.
