The Beijing International Festival Chorus (IFC) is the brain-child of Beijing based British conductor Nicholas Smith and singers James Baer and Nancy Fraser. In March 2002 the IFC burst onto the Beijing classical music scene with a sold out performance of Mozart's Requiem at the Forbidden City Concert Hall. Since then the chorus has established itself as Beijing's premier choir.

The IFC 2012 season will be incredibly active as we will be celebrating the choir's 10th year anniversary. If you would like to be part of this momentous year of singing, please contact us (auditions@beijingifc.org) to organise an audition time.

I am an Irish guitarist looking for other jazz musicians to form a fusion jazz group. My influences are musicians and groups like John McLaughlin, Weather Report, Chick Corea, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Larry Coryell and many others.

The goal is to play a combination of jazz and fusion standards, and original compositions also.

hi. i've posted on here before, mentioning that i'm a 29 year old guitarist (/bassist) looking to start any rock project from pop punk to grunge influenced stuff to speed metal to ska rock. ive played guitar since i was 16, but haven't been in many bands.

i'm still in the same boat. i'm looking for a singer to collaborate with, a drummer to get into the studio with and a bass player and/or guitarist with which to structure and write songs.

1) the studio i usually use is on gu lou dongdajie (between the drum tower and nanluoguxiang). it has a small room for 30 rmb / hr and a big room with better drums/amps for 40/hr. there's also a shitty beat up studio in Jishuitan (line 2 north) that is booked up more often, which costs a bit more. they both supply all equipment, but most of it isnt' in the best of shape.

The training include 3 different stages:

1) Recording sessions (mics, the mixer, techniques to record in different formats)
2) Mix: how to mix the multitrack recording sessions and how to use the effects like compressors, limiters, eqs and all the tools for the mix.
3) Mastering: techniques to mastering the audio ready for a master to produce.
4) You will know which equipment you really need to buy to produce your own music at your own home studio with a high quality.

At the end of the course you can record your own material to practice .
