Hainan Airlines to Commence Non-Stop Flights from Beijing to Tel Aviv

Given the number of routes that Hainan Airlines is adding, one would be forgiven for thinking that China doesn't have much of an outbound travel market. But considering that between 100-120 million Chinese citizens traveled abroad last year, it's a surprise there aren't more international routes being initiated.

Hainan Airlines couldn't care less. It's starting up service to Tel Aviv beginning April 28, just in time for ... we're not sure what. Israeli national carrier El Al already flies between the two cities.

Their Haikou-based airline's (who are they kidding? They're a Beijing airline) schedule complements that of El Al, flying on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

We wish that Hainan would join Star Alliance or at least One World so that we could take advantage of their new routes to not only Tel Aviv, but Boston, Calgary, San Jose, Montreal, Havana, and the other destinations we are sure they will announce, since that's what they've been doing month after month for over a year.

The guys that run Moxi Moxi (Moxi included) on Fangjia Hutong are all from Israel. Very nice management and excellent food if you've yet to check it out.
