Fundraiser for Ecuador Earthquake Victims this Sunday, Apr 24

On Sunday, April 24, Beijngers have the opportunity to help out Ecuador, a country that suffered a magnitude 7.8 earthquake and many aftershocks on April 16.

The death roll has surged to 570 people, a number which is still expected to rise as the rescue teams continue digging, CNN reported. More than 7,000 people have been confirmed to have been injured so far.

Wine shop La Cava de Laoma, in Sanlitun Soho, is hosting a fundraising event.

There will be live Andean music, Ecuadorian and Latin American food, South American wines, donated products and handicrafts for sale, a Latino quiz, and a raffle. Most importantly though, this is a chance to get together and raise funds for the Embassy of Ecuador to send to those affected by the earthquake.
