Alla Osteria 意尚意大利餐厅

A tasteful and unpretentious choice for delicious Piemontese style Italian cuisine. Try the melt-in-your-mouth agnolotti burro e salvia (RMB 48), or the gamberoni croccanti con tortino (RMB 118) – succulent prawns with saffron and champagne sauce. Management claims that all produce is home grown and three-course set lunches cost RMB 68. There is an extensive wine list and the venue features its own underground cellar.

All the food and beverage is up to standard.
But the services is not that I want.
They smile to foreigner but not to asian face.
That's why they are quite a lot of foreigner.
If you are chinese, be aware of it.

Love the lamb chops, thin-crust pizza and wine cellar

Went with a large group of people and had a great dinner. The thin-crust pizzas were well-prepared, and I especially like the cheese-less pie with capers and anchovies. The antipasto featured bountiful slices of very nice ham and salami, and the piece de resistance were their lamb chops with rosemary, nice big ones that were very tasty (they were well-done, so if you like yours rare you'd better ask in advance). The place is quite hard to find if you haven't been there before, so be sure to bring the phone number in case you need to call to ask directions.

disappointed

I have read the previous review and I guess I've expected too much. The restaurant is small and quiet place, with nice atmosphere, but it's the only think that I liked there.

I would say that the place is not cheap, especially, I haven't noticed anything like "and three-course set lunches cost RMB 68.". The cheapest dish would be abt 50 RMB, most of meat and fish 100+.

The service was not bad, but the attitude of the staff has a lot of room for improvement.

We did not order any wine, so I cannot judge this, but the drinks were a bit overpriced - 18 RMB for a tin of coke? Give me a break.

Another inconvenience - if you need to visit the bathroom, you'll have to go out on the street and enter the shopping mall to use bathroom there. Not a big deal in summer, but in windy winter weather its not a pleasant experience.

Overall, 300 RMB for a dinner for 2 that made us full, but not satisfied. I suggest spending this money elsewhere.

Good italian food for reasonnable price

If you want to have a real italian dinner but nothing too expensive or fashionnable. You must try Osteria, you will find some dishes that does not exist elswhere in Beijing, service is nice, the terrasse in the sommer is very calm and relaxing.
My advice : don't eat too much of that delicious salsa pommodoro they serve you while you're waiting for your dishes, because the rest is just as good.
