BHG Market Place I'll admit, I really really miss Western-styled grocery stores... so BHG was a nice trip reminiscent of the groceries in CA.
Between the 2 marketplaces I visted (Sanlitun & Solana), both were clean and very, very nice. There was such a variety of imported goods that it nearly made me drool. The fruit and vegetable area was litter-free and smelled clean, the produce itself was pre-packaged and looked to be of good quality. There was a nice-looking deli section, noodle bar, sushi bar, etc. The hot foods section is clean and you can tell they are conscientious of both the quality of the product and the impression it makes on the customer.
Yes, it's more expensive, but they have a huge selection! The Sanlitun location had Pacific Almond milk which was amazing! I have been searching for a viable almond milk replacement for the past 2 weeks, and the fact that BHG carried not only that, but also Rice & Oat milk astounded me. They definitely got my loyalty after that, teehee.
However, the only 2 things I would complain about is how expensive some products were. I saw a bottle of shampoo for 118 RMB... really guys? Most products I could've gotten for a few RMB less at Jenny Lou's, or April Gourmet (But the sheer variety is not to be dismissed).
Also, beware of the extent to which they use plastic; I bought a salad, already in a plastic container, and they then wrapped it again. Same goes for pre-cut fruit, and some other pre-cooked produce.
