Review of
Congregation of the Good Shepherd I have been a member of the Congregation of the Good Shepherd for almost five years, and I thoroughly recommend it. The service is similar to what you would find in a Catholic, Presbyterian, Methodist or Episcopal/Anglican church, although the congregation is not affiliated with any denomination and has members from many denominations. The services are a lovely blend of warmth and reverence and newcomers are made welcome.
There is a choir that meets an hour before the service to prepare for the service, which is nice for me because I don't have time to join the Festival Chorus, but I love to sing. There is a group of "Youngish Adults" meeting every Sunday evening for fellowship and education. There is a Sunday School for children aged 3-14. The standard of preaching is excellent and the Pastors are very involved in all aspects of the Congregation's life.
A big focus for the congregation is service. A substantial portion of the offerings collected go to support various projects around China, including work with special needs children, foster homes and support for Chinese Christians.
It can be a little hard to find sometimes, but there are very detailed directions here: http://www.cogs-bj.org/location.
Hope to be able to welcome you some Sunday!
